Sock on and Trip Prep

And so the heel turns!


The Solstice Slip continues and it's such a fun knit. I'm really enjoying it. Afterall, what's NOT to enjoy about Socks That Rock? This is my first time using their lightweight and I'm pleased with it. I really love the mediumweight but it can be a problem with bulk in a shoe.

I finally purchased a kitchen scale so I won't be having another Jaywalker fiasco. That pair is still waiting for it's next skein!

My kids and I are taking a road trip down to Texas to see my mother. It should be fun, but I, of course, need to do my wool packing! There is a cute yarn shop near my mom's house in Lubbock, so I know I can get some extra..but I have so much now that I want to knit up!
Last night I got out the swift and ball winder and went to town.

From top left; Euroflax in Sandstone - most likely for a towel from Mason Dixon Knitting, Lovers Leap Mediumweight STR - not sure what sock yet, Lorna's Laces in Sunshine and Lucky Stripe - going to be Eunny's Entrelac Socks, Sherbet Lightweight STR - Monkeys, and Jade Mediumweight STR - Embossed Leaves.

The sherbet is next on the list. I can't wait to cast on for another pair of Monkeys! Just look at these colors!!! I'm so in love. This picture if pretty close to true colors. It's bright, baby, but so yummy.



Sometimes it can feel oppressive when you have a long list of things to knit, but this pile just makes me smile and feel excited!

Hot weather and gloves?

Actually they go together. Knitting gloves is a bit like knitting socks, portable and you see your progress quickly!

I actually managed to get a rose to bloom! Yay!

The update on the 'cyst' is interesting. As mentioned it is IN my wrist, not protruding. Well this makes it odd. The doc said it most likely wasn't a cyst, but a 'mass'. Does this make other people shudder?
I'm having an MRI next week with dye.
Aren't you jealous?
Doc thinks it's a mass that's normally associated with tendonitis. What's the treatment for that? I honestly didn't ask. I had my 3 year old with me at the appointment, so was just trying to get in and out. Luckily next week at the MRI, I'll be childless. I have a follow up with the Doc the next week.
Here's to hoping it'll be solved easily!

Yarn Porn/Eye Candy

No knitting means I have to entertain myself somehow!


This is my own kool-aid (black cherry, pink lemonade, Berry Blue) dyed yarn from KnitPicks. C at The Woman Who Says 'Knit' blogged about our dying night. It was a ton of fun, if a bit stinky. :) It looked funny before it was caked, but now I really like it. I'm not sure what I'm going to make with it. It's 100% Wool in worsted. I figured I could felt up something..or..who knows. For now I just love looking at it.


I have a whole basket full of yummy sock yarn goodness just waiting for my wrist to heal. There's some Lorna's Laces, Trekking XXL, Bernat Sox, Katia Mississippi 3 and Socks That Rock. Is it any wonder I'm going crazy?



I have this lovely group of Cascade to make a spring bucket bag. The colors just make me smile. Speaking of yarns that make me smile..here's some Dale Baby Ul I have. I was going to make a sweater out of it, but that didn't happen. Someday I'll get to it.


How do you store you needles? I keep my straights in a basket and a vase.



And my circs in a Knitters bag and a tote bag. I can't believe how many I have. I also have a card in my wallet with all of my needles listed. It's a cute card provided by one of my LYS. It's really handy to have since I always use my 40% off JoAnn and Michael cards to pick up ones I don't have.

Now you see what I'm surrounded by on a daily basis! Heal wrist, heal!

Early Friday Eye Candy....and SSS

My daughters were flower girls in my SILs wedding a few weeks ago. This shot was so sweet and I can't wait to see the professional ones. They posed so well!

Anyway as mentioned SSS has struck. How can that be? I'm on the foot for goodness sake's! I have maybe 2 1/2 more inches of SS and then the toe. And I LOVE the first one and want the pair so badly. :P
Maybe it's just the gorgeous weather we've had here, hasn't been entirely conducive to knitting. Instead the younger daughter and I hit the Zoo, including the mini-train and the carosel. Nice toasty 60 degrees and sunshine..but of course the forecast is for snow in the next two days. I swear the animals at the zoo were frolicking, they KNOW that was the last nice day until..ugh..next April? March if we're lucky?

I have Kitty Pi to bang out this weekend and then I think I'm going to tackle the Perfect Sweater from the Mason-Dixon Blog. I realized I don't have a sweater for myself and I'd like a simple classic one that won't break the bank. It calls for Cascade 220, can't get much more reasonable than that! And oooh the colors to choose from for Cascade! I love the Heathers, they are beautiful. Maybe a purple..or a chocolate brown..or or!

Hopefully my camera will be back soon and I'll have a nice pict of my completed (heaven help me) pair of socks!!!
